Full-Time Health Clinics

The Pennsylvania United Medical Association (PUMA), under its second five-year agreement with the Social Welfare Council of the Nepalese government, is currently serving the most rural villages in the country of Nepal as an International Governmental Agency. Under this agreement PUMA has established five (5) full-time medical clinics that provide medical services to the most remote areas in Nepal.

Services at PUMA Health Clinics

These clinics provide lab work, prenatal care, de-worming, and many other vital services to each village. Other services provided in these areas include the distribution of mosquito netting and health-related education through the clinics. Additionally, PUMA often assists villages with clean water and well projects.

Periodically each year, PUMA brings western medical teams for special health programs in which medical specialists work side by side with the Nepalese staff. Areas of medical care include gastroenterology, gynecology, obstetrics and ultrasound, and physical therapy.
